Stevie Ray Vaughan brought back a genre of music that was all but dead and buried during a time period where pink hair and skinny ties ruled the airwaves. Vaughan also overcame a tremendous drinking problem that nearly cost him his life. Though all of his tragedies and triumphs, Stevie persevered and continued to grow musically as well as spiritually until his untimely death. Stevie did not single handedly bring blues music back to the forefront. He had help from two friends: Tommy Shannon and Chris Layton. These two friends were the canvas for Vaughan to portray his artistic excellence. Together, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble made history.
